Help & FAQs

Hello and Welcome to Break'n Pics. What you may need to know and FAQ page.

What is Break'n Pics?

Break'n Pics helps designers, bloggers, sales, markieting groups, and everyone else who is looking for to find photos and videos(coming soon) that you can use for free.

What is the Break'n Pics license of the photos and videos?

All photos and videos uploaded on Break'n Pics are licensed under the Break'n Pics license. This means you can use them for free for personal and commercial purposes. For more information read the following license page and or our Terms of Service.

Can I use the photos and videos for a commercial project?

Yes, all photos and videos are free for commercial use. You can use them on your commercial website, blog, product, or anywhere else. Please note that depicted content like trademarks, logos or brands may still be protected by e.g. privacy, copyright or trademark rights and you shouldn't imply that the depicted person, brand, trademark or copyright holder of the depicted work is endorsing or taking part in your product or service. For such uses cases you may need the permission or consent of the depicted third parties.  Please consult third parties.

Can I sell photos or videos from the Break'n Pics site?

You can't sell photos or videos licensed under the Break'n Pic's License as they are, they need to be modified. For example, selling them as prints (posters, postcards, brochures, …) or on physical goods (t-shirts, cups, bags, stickers, …). You can only sell them if you edited, modified or otherwise added value. Also it is prohibited to sell or upload them on other stock photo or wallpaper sites and platforms (however you can use our API to show Break'n Pics photos and videos on your own site or app).

Do I need to mention the source, originator, or the photographer?

No, attribution is not required. However, it is appreciated if you mention and link to Break'n Pics and the creator.  It may be benificial to the creator.  Your uploaded images have to be of your work.  There is an for viewers to report photos that belong to them in the photograph's page.  Originators can report and send an email providing proof and reason.

Can I upload images taken by or created by another person or entity?

The short answer is "no". However, there are images in the public domain, which means they are free to use commercially. If they are hosted on other sites, then you may not be allowed to take the image from there, copyrights may also apply. Check with their terms of use. But you can't take one of those images, and upload it here. You may use it in an edited work, but it would need to show a lot of editing or creativity, and not be primarily the original image. You may use images from any source that approves of such use, but you must acknowledge the source in your image description. Our approvers may want to see the original image to determine that what you submit is mostly your own work. Generally, other image sites do not allow such use, as it is redistribution.  The idea is to express and share your own work to viewers.

What are sponsored photos?

These are photos from partners that provide photos you can buy. You will get redirected to their website, if you click on one of their photos. There you can buy the photo. Under the premium section authors and creators can sell photos as well.

How can I delete my account?

Users have the ability to delete their accounts.  However, if there is an issue please write us an email or contact us through our Facebook page.

Why did you reject my perfectly good images?

There are many reasons for rejection. For example we may have too many images of a particular category, and we approve only very high quality images. At full size, your photo may have been blurry, pixelated, or full of noise or artefacts. This affects images that are to be printed or viewed at large size where they are being used. Your image may be badly focussed - on the background rather than the subject. It may have a poor composition, which distracts the eye. It may be considered not very useful as a stock image.  These are a few examples.

There will be a reason given regarding the rejection. In future we may have less time, but we will try to point out the problems with your rejected images. However, you must not take personal offence at the advice. We are trying to help you, and if you disagree, please do so in a pleasant way. We are human, we can make mistakes. But our aim is to provide high quality free stock images, and because of that, some images will be rejected. Keep trying. Take the advice on board, and your photography and graphics will improve. Many people have begun on free stock sites, learned from them, and gone on to make money on paid sites.

Can I submit images containing nudity?

No. There are plenty of sites out there for that. While there would seem to be good reasons for nudity in some stock categories, we would prefer not to host nude, adult or suggestive content. That way there can be no argument about how far is too far, etc. Therefore, no bare breasts, genitalia, pubic hair, or implied sexual acts.
